About Us

It's all in our name

Drawing on fourteen years design experience, our aim at Dovetail Lifestyle Furniture is to develop innovative and exciting furniture to meet the requirements of the UK’s medium to top end living and commercial markets.

All of the our furniture ranges are designed to be timeless and unique. Our ambition is to produce eye-catching and stylish furniture that complements a modern lifestyle, while retaining traditional production and craftsmanship values. It’s the small finishes and tucked away details – the dovetailed joints and crafted tenon finishes – that make our furniture unique.
So, that accounts for the ‘Dovetail’ and ‘Lifestyle’ aspects of our company name, but one essential word remains: ‘Furniture’. Well, that’s simply what we do … and what we do well.

Staying at the cutting edge

Gareth Griffiths, Managing Director and principal designer at Dovetail, has designed some of the UK’s bestselling furniture ranges. During his freelance career his clients included Habitat and Ikea. At Dovetail, Gareth has two principal objectives: to supply top end quality products at competitive prices and to keep Dovetail at the cutting edge of furniture design.

“Our obsession with detail and love of traditional qualities, together with our affinity for solid timber and the use of the very best materials, ensures that each of the pieces we produce has a warm and distinctive feel. We are constantly adding to and revising our portfolio to ensure that we stay ahead of the crowd”.

A hands-on and responsible approach

At Dovetail we like to keep a close eye on our products at all stages of the development process – from the selection of timber, through production, and on to final delivery. The production of our furniture is generally outsourced overseas, to Eastern Europe and China. We’ve put a great deal of effort into selecting production partners that share our passion for traditional furniture making. While in no way compromising quality or design, the advantage of working with overseas partners is reflected in the price – savings that we are able to pass on to our customers.

We believe in the importance of conserving our environment and the world’s forests. We ensure that all our timber is sourced from managed and sustainable forests. At present we are in the process of applying for ‘Forest Certification’ as official recognition of our efforts in this regard.

Our customers

Of course, in the last resort, we’re nothing without our customers. And, just like with our furniture, quality is the keyword here as well. We pride ourselves on friendly, informative and responsive customer services.
